Character Spotlight

Want the details of the two leading characters in An Ever After Summer, seen in the novella collection, Once Upon a Summer? Then continue on!
Meet Jean-Luc Thibodeaux
Age: 34
Description: Mahogany brown skin, bald, and a face that’s been badly scarred.
Resembles: Seal (the singer)
Occupation: Architect turned château restorer
Inspiration for character: Beast from Beauty and the Beast. I needed a guy who had a reason for acting so horribly. I decided Jean-Luc would be a widower after experiencing a horrible car accident.
Greatest struggle: Jean-Luc fears living again and all that entails. That relationships will only be a source of deep pain.
Goal in life: to make it through one more day.
Quirks: Growling at people.
Regrets: Driving in the accident that cost him his wife.
The thing he most admires about Bellamy: her kindness to everyone she meets.
The thing that attracts him the most about Belle: everything.
Favorite Scripture: “…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20 NKJV

Meet Bellamy Larson
Age: 29
Description: Brown skin, long black hair, petite.
Resembles: DeWanda Wise
Occupation: Book curator / book preserver.
Inspiration for character: I wanted Bell to love books and wanted to go outside the norm of a librarian and search for other types of bookish jobs. Of course she was molded after Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
Greatest struggle: fear of losing those she loves.
Goal in life: To live a life of faith with a family of her own.
Quirks: smelling books.
Regrets: waiting so long to travel.
The thing she most admires about Jean-Luc: his loyalty to his friends.
The thing that attracts her the most about Jean-Luc: his strength
Favorite Scripture: “In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.” – Psalm 18:6 NKJV
